THE STARLING TEAM
Basia is a multidisciplinary designer whose work encompasses brand identity, packaging, art direction and event design. After receiving her degree from the School of Visual Arts in New York City, Basia co-founded the design collective 280:Design House in the East Village, working in all aspects of commercial and retail branding: from simple logos to more comprehensive branding for clients like 3M, AMC, Criterion Collection, Barclays Bank, Fashion Institute of Technology, Nickelodeon, MTV and Winestore. In 2009, she was hired to be the on-air designer on various restaurant/interior renovation shows for HGTV, Food Network, DIY Network, and Utilisima. She joined Starling as Creative Director in 2017, focusing her talents on the food & beverage industry, as well as retail and hospitality. Basia enjoys building purposeful experiences with her clients that create lasting impressions. She is striving to practice design solutions in a more responsible and thoughtful way, in hopes to preserve the beauty of this planet for future generations.
As Lead Planner at Starling, Elise pairs her experience from the hospitality industry with production coordination to execute events that are both thoughtful and clear in execution. Her position as Director of Programming and Producer at a performing arts organization has equipped Elise to undertake events that utilize her eye for detail, ability to liaise with multiple parties, and the intuition to understand the needs of a client. Elise has perfected the flow of an event, through management of the day, internal organization of staff, in-the-moment problem solving, and preparatory guidance for the client. Where passion and grace intersect, Elise reimagines events giving them the capacity to provoke lasting memories that surpass time.
With the belief that an event should be a direct reflection of the clients’ vision, Jackie focuses on collaboration as a core element in transforming inspiration into something tangible and fully realized. Her arrangements are known for providing a modern and fresh take on a timeless look. Working closely with local farmers and wholesalers, Jackie is able to source the season’s most beautiful flowers, selecting each bloom to reveal its most natural shape and elegance.
Jackie studied floral design at the New York Botanical Garden’s School of Floral Design in 2012, and spent the next several years gaining experience under some of NYC’s best floral designers, while producing events through her own business. Now, as Lead Floral Designer at Starling, she draws upon her combined experience to make your event as beautiful and effortless as possible, leaving you to enjoy your special day.
